I think it's about time a post about the Eat Cambridge festival of food and drink makes it onto the Blog. Along with fellow organisers and lovers of local food and drink, Caroline of The Real Cambridge and Sian of Bone White China, I've been spending every spare minute plotting, planning and promoting Cambridge's first proper food festival. The festival, which celebrates our local, independent food and drink scene, will take place in March featuring an exciting line-up of foodie fringe events; kicking off on Friday 1 March with the Cambridge Cookery School's pop-up supper club and closing two weekends later with a food bloggers debate and an Eat Cambridge Social on Sunday 17 March (see page 17 of the brochure). I'm looking forward to the great events taking place throughout the festival, especially the Street Food event on the evening of Friday 15 March at Hope Street Yard on Mill Road (see page 15 of the brochure).
The Main Event is a huge food and drink fair at The Guildhall on Saturday 9 March from 10.30am - 4pm, which will bring together an incredible variety of local producers, retailers, experts, experience providers, all with samples ready for you to taste and a wealth of local and foodie knowledge to share with anyone who will listen! We've been overwhelmed by the passion and community ethos we've uncovered in Cambridge; we always knew it existed but bringing it all together in one place will be an amazing event for the city's food lovers. At The Main Event there will be a programme of talks and demos and also culinary Cambridge tours taking place throughout the day. The full programme was released online yesterday, take a look here.
See you there!
