I've been frantically planning, buying and baking for the last few days to prepare some homemade treats to accompany an afternoon cream tea and garden party followed by an evening barbeque to celebrate my parents' ruby wedding anniversary. I've already shared my recipes for Champagne Cupcakes and Fraisier aux Biscuits Roses on the Blog, which we served alongside some delicious scones made by my two sisters and an incredible afternoon tea-themed cake created by Best Friend Jess...

Guest Photo Post: Rustic Pleasures
You may remember earlier this year I mentioned my Sunday afternoon visit to a lovely plot of town allotments in Hertfordshire and how envious I was of the space and peace and quiet in which to start one's very own version of The Good Life. You can read the blog post and see the photos here.
It has taken a while for the British weather to be kind enough and deliver the right amount of sunshine to go with the torrential rain we've been having lately. Yet, finally, this weekend Margie White has been busily harvesting the allotment's crops and turning them into some wholesome, home-cooked delights.
Unfortunately I'm not sampling MW's wares in person but I'm lucky enough to have some beautiful photos to share with you all. I think you'll agree that there's nothing better than rustic, vibrant, fresh ingredients lovingly transformed into some good old comfort food.
Enjoy! :-)
